Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy
Our commitment to creating a secure environment for every user.
Our Commitment
At BLEGL, the safety and well-being of all our users, especially those under the age of 18, is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a secure and positive online environment where students can learn and grow without fear of harm, abuse, or exploitation. This policy outlines the measures we take to protect our younger users.
1. Educator Vetting and Verification
Every educator who applies to join the BLEGL platform undergoes a verification process. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Review of qualifications and credentials.
- Identity verification checks where possible.
- A review of their suitability to work with young people.
Only educators who pass our review process are approved to interact with students on the platform.
2. Safe Communication Channels
All communication between students and educators is expected to take place on the BLEGL platform. Our in-app messaging system is monitored for inappropriate content and language. We strongly advise against sharing personal contact information like phone numbers, email addresses, or social media profiles.
3. Parental Controls and Involvement
We empower parents and guardians to be active participants in their child's educational journey. Our "For Parents" features include:
- The ability to link a parent account to a student account.
- Access to progress reports and platform usage.
- Direct messaging capabilities with their child's connected educators.
- Notifications regarding upcoming sessions and milestones.
4. Clear Reporting Mechanisms
We make it easy for users to report any behavior that makes them feel uncomfortable or violates our Community Guidelines. Reporting tools are available on user profiles and within communication channels. All reports are treated with confidentiality and urgency. You can also send a direct report to our safety team at safety@blegl.com.
5. Data Privacy for Minors
We are fully compliant with our Privacy Policy regarding children's data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. We limit the data we collect from all users to what is necessary to provide our services.
Guidance for Students and Parents
